How can you help Age Concern?

As an independent local charity, we are very much dependent on our own funding. Without your help' we cannot provide the vital information' advice and services that help thousands of older people throughout the county.

Our services have expanded greatly over the last few years to meet the growing need of the older population of Shropshire. Unfortunately, the growth of our funding has not kept pace. We are not funded by Government, nor are all our funding needs (over £1million a year) met by local councils. Our funding from local councils increases slightly each year but does not match the actual increase in service costs and the gap grows ever wider.

Easy ways to help us:

• Make a donation. However small, it will make a difference to an older person's life. If you are a tax payer, sign a gift aid form and for every £1 you donate, we will receive £1.28 (from April 2008 £1.25)
• Leaving money to Age Concern Shropshire Telford & Wrekin in your will. If you don't have any immediate family, it is important that you decide where your money goes. If you have dependents, without jeopardising the future for you or your loved ones, you can still help by leaving money to Age Concern in your will
• State in your will that instead of flowers you wish for funeral donations to come to us.
• Get involved with fundraising on our behalf. You can organise a coffee morning, take up a personal challenge, open your garden to visitors or hold a raffle. All ideas are welcome and support can be given.
• Volunteering The services we provide could not run without our dedicated team of volunteers. They are the life blood of our charity. Throughout the county we have nearly 600 volunteers and with your help we can help even more older people in our county.

How will we use your money?
Your donation will be put to constructive use and you are welcome to discuss with us how you wish your donation to be spent. Our activities cover everything from advice and information to befriending schemes and day centres. We work wholeheartedly to raise the quality of life for older people across Shropshire Telford & Wrekin.
