Age Concern Shropshire Telford & Wrekin
is a local charity which works tirelessly to make life better for older people in the county of Shropshire.
Although linked to a national federation, the charity is run by local trustees, campaigns for older people in the county and provides the services needed by Salopians.
The charity has been working in Shropshire for over 50 years and has its headquarters in Shrewsbury and offices in Whitchurch, Ludlow and Telford.

Retirement brings life changing issues and Age Concern is ready to offer benefits help and advice and provide information on all issues concerning older people to allow them to make informed decisions. Those undergoing problems can be assured of the independent and trustworthy support of Age Concern's Advocates.
Volunteers needed to help older people have a bit of fun!
Getting out and about, making new friends, doing new things - these are important to us all. The Age Concern Day Centres help older people who are not as fit as they were to enjoy a day out once a week.
We currently have vacancies for Day Centre voluntary organisers in two centres - one in Shrewsbury the other in Oswestry. You woud be working with a team of other volunteers one day a week from about 9.30am to 3pm. In return for a day of your time we offer training, support, lots of laughs, a few tears and the sense you are really making a difference.

Age Concern Shropshire Telford and Wrekin runs a number of befriending schemes around the county. All are free but contributions to assist Age Concern in its work are always welcome. Contact the Help At Home Scheme for more information on 01743 233788.
Day centres operate throughout Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin at various venues. Each day centre is local to its area. They open one day a week usually between 10am and 3pm (times may vary slightly). Contact the Head Office in Shrewsbury for further details on 01743 233123.
