Parish Links Scheme

The Parish Links Scheme, working within Shropshire (excluding the area of Telford and Wrekin), recruits volunteers to act as links between Age Concern and their local community. It is difficult to make contact with all older people in such a large rural county as Shropshire, and parish links play an important role in overcoming this problem.

At present Age Concern have some eighty volunteers acting as Parish links in over one hundred villages. Thanks to these volunteers the scheme is working well. They spend just one or two hours a month publicising Age Concern and our services in their local area.
